Having removed the old stem and apron, alignment is checked by locating the lofted stem pattern onto the dummy apron.

In the absence of a full table of offsets, we have obtained the stem section shape by setting the stem pattern to the correct rake and laying fairing battens at each waterline. The angle at each waterline is marked onto the scrieve board. There were found to be a few significant discrepancies between the port and starboard sides and after further investigation we judged that the starboard side should be taken as the better side and mirrored to port.
